Lafourche, thanks good comment, is this a "structure" vs. "spontaneity" debate? What in heck is "structure" anyway; isn't that cheating, like making an outline or having an ending in mind for a story or ...poem? Me a poet, you suggest? ha. that's rich I can't construct two words together without forgetting what I was thinking I was writing about, I admire folks like you who have the gift of the gab but well structured. It's true, Lafourche, your "just go with the flow" philosophy, like Dickens' purported advice to a student questioner: "just write, and write, and write...." But I'm getting to think that's like blood-letting, medicine by leeches, it's too late for me anyway I'm old and on the way out with no expectations... Wait, not exactly so, i still try a structured piece now and then, here's the latest --advocating for a cause Congress is presently considering, the photo is inappropriate, tooo real. I actually came here to remove that story's photo (and just leave the cutline). The story's "structure" is so serious I had to use an insanely sad photo to beat sense into our Government's head, what do you think, too far? "Structure" or "Perception" is better? lafourche? https://thomasbalzac.medium.com/the-price-they-paid-for-our-broken-promise-to-afghan-interpreters-insert-photo-of-minas-9c002dbd7ac2
